Pacer Performance Dam |
The Pacer Performance Dam program recognizes Shorthorn females for their superior fertility and performance as well as the breeders who own these breed leading females. The ideal female calves and rebreeds every year while raising a high performing calf year in and year out. The Pacer Performance Dam program recognizes these females and their owners each year at the National Show and Meeting.
To be recognized as a Pacer Performance Dam the female must:

- Have her first calf by the time she is no older than 28 months of age.
- Maintain a calving interval of less than 375 days on three consecutive calves.
- Had three consecutive natural registered calves with complete performance data submitted to the American Shorthorn Association.
- Had a minimum progeny average weaning ratio of 102 on three consecutive calves.
- Had a minimum progeny average yearling ratio of 100 on three consecutive calves.

| Pacer Performance Sire |
The Shorthorn breed has been noted as the breed to turn to in order to increase fertility rates, mothering ability and marbling traits in a cowherd. The Pacer Performance Sire program recognizes Shorthorn bulls that are able to pass these relevant traits to their offspring. Qualifying bulls are recognized each year at the National Show and Meeting.
To be recognized as a Pacer Performance Sire the bull must |
- Have a minimum of 25 registered progeny with complete performance data (birth, weaning and yearling weights) submitted to the American Shorthorn Association.
- Have a minimum of 5 daughters in production that calved at less than 28 months with an average progeny weaning ratio of over 100.
- Have a minimum of five progeny whose carcasses have met the ASA “Gold Award” standards (Choice – Yield Grade 3 carcass).
- The bulls BEPD, WEPD, YEPD and MEPD must be in the top 75 percent of the breed based on the main active sire list in the year of nomination.
