To obtain any Shorthorn animal’s genetic defect status, simply use the “Search the Breed” tool found in the lower right-hand corner of the homepage. Type the animal’s registered name or registration number in the spaces provided and then click “Search.” If the animal has been tested and reported to the ASA, the genetic defect status will appear right after the animal’s registration number at the top of the “Animal Information” page. If nothing is listed, then the animal’s genetic defect status has not been reported to the ASA.
