Effective for the 2012-13 Show Season
The American Shorthorn Association (ASA) will provide 50% of the premiums in the Open Shorthorn Breeding Cattle Shows. The ASA’s share of the premiums will be handled directly through their office in Omaha, NE. Please send a complete Premium Report to the ASA at the completion of the show. See Premium Book Statements below.
Requirements that must be include in the Premium Report
i. Animal registration number
ii. Exhibitor Name , City, State
iii. Amount paid by show
In order for an exhibitor to be eligible to receive the ASA share of premiums at Open PACE shows, the member must be in good standing, owner’s entire herd must be enrolled in the WHR program by July 1 of the given year, and each animal shown must have individual SPR records in order to receive ASA financial support. The ASA portion of the show premiums will be given as a credit to the member account.
The Fair must adhere to the Major PACE Show Classifications that are provided by the ASA. Age divisions (ie. Late Spring Calf, Early Spring Calf, Junior Calf, Senior Calf, Intermediate, Junior, Senior) are not flexible.
The ASA Board of Directors will recommend two judges in their order of preference to judge the PACE show. The Fair must select a judge from the list submitted by the ASA. The judges are to be contacted in order of preference indicated by the ASA Board of Directors.
The Fair will pay the judge’s expenses and honorarium for judging.
If any item in the PACE Show Guidelines is not fully adapted and adhered to, the ASA Board of Directors can revoke the PACE Show status and premium support at any time.

Open Breeding Show:

Junior Heifer Show:
“The American Shorthorn Association (ASA), 8288 Hascall Street, Omaha, NE 68124, will pay 50 % of the Junior Shorthorn Heifer Show premiums. In order for an exhibitor to be eligible to receive the ASA share of premiums at Junior PACE shows, the member must be in good standing, owner’s entire herd must be enrolled in the WHR program by July 1 of the given year, and each animal shown must have individual SPR records in order to receive ASA financial support. The ASA portion of the show premiums will be given as a credit to the member account. No exhibitor will be paid more than two premiums in an individual class, and the Association does not pay additional premiums in the championship classes. The ASA’s share of premiums will be paid and handled directly through their office in Omaha, Nebraska.”
Invitational PACE Show Guidelines for Fairs and Expos
Effective for the 2012-2013 Show Season
The American Shorthorn Association (ASA) will provide an additional 20% to each individual premium amounting to $10.00 or more paid by the Fair in the Open Shorthorn Breeding Cattle. The ASA’s share of the premiums will be handled directly through their office in Omaha, NE. Please send a complete premium report to the ASA at the completion of the show.

The ASA Board of Directors will recommend two judges in their order of preference to judge the PACE show. The Fair must select a judge from the list submitted by the ASA. The judges are to be contacted in order of preference indicated by the ASA Board of Directors.
The Fair will pay the judge’s expenses and honorarium for judging.
