What is the cost associated with WHR?
The single annual WHR assessment fee is $16 on each female of assessment age.

What animals will be assessed?
Females that have reached assessment age by July 1.

Bulls will not be assessed

ET calves: for active donor dams one calf will be allocated to the donor dam’s assessment, except in the case that the donor also has a natural calf born during the assessment year

What is the assessment age of an animal?
Any female that is 16 months of age by July 1st of that year.

When are inventories due?
All Inventories are due in the office by July 1st of every year.

What if I have a female who turns 16 months of age on July 1, 2009 should she be on my active inventory?
No she will be on your next inventory list.

When are we billed and when is payment due on WHR billings?
Billings are based off of your inventory on July 1. Billing invoices will be mailed in August with ½ of the assessment fee due September 1st and the other ½ of the assessment fee payment due March 1st.

If I want to register an animal over 24 months what fee will I pay? The fee would be $30- the current fee for over 18 months of age

What is the total charge for a calf born of embryo-transfer (ET)?
The total fee is $15. [Registration up to 24 months-Free] [ET Registration Fee-$15]
(TOC would be a total of $30)

What if I sell a calf before the 2nd ½ billing is due.
WHR is based on your inventory as of July 1, therefore, you would still owe for animals that have been disposed of since July 1, of that year.  

What am I charged to transfer an animal?
All transfer fees are waived if you are on WHR

What is meant when it is said you receive extended time to transfer animals?
On TOC you are charged more as the time the longer you wait to send in the transfer after the date of sale.  Ex. $11 under 60 days; $16 60-90 days; and $31 over 90 days. On WHR the fee remains the same (waived).

What am I required to do to be on WHR?
One of the following must be received at the ASA office for each cow on inventory:

a) A calf record
b) A disposal code on the cow (These will be provided on the forms.)
c) A reason code on the cow (Example: open, ET program, moved to the
next calving season, etc.)
