New Leadership Elected
As we end another successful Junior Nationals, its time to say goodbye to those who have assisted us in the past, and welcome new faces. The new Jr. Board representatives join us from all over the United States.
Retiring form the junior board, fulfilling their terms are Alicia Stover, Binger, Okla.; Tyler Hahn, Watseka, Ill.; Laura Ewald, Waldorf, Minn.; Holly Smith, Prineville, Ore.; and Jennifer Carter, Celina, Texas. These members have put forth much effort during their tenure on the AJSA board, and the membership is very grateful for their leadership and aptitude.
We welcome six new stars to the 2008-09 AJSA Board.
Serving as our new president is Ben Warfield, Marriottsville, Md., a senior at Texas A&M University pursuing a degree in business. He is the son of J.G. and Laura Warfield.
Our new vice president is Callyn Hahn, Watseka, Ill., She will be attending Kansas State University this fall. She is the daughter of Doug and Donna Hahn.
Representing Louisiana is the new secretary, Claire Galley from DeQuincy. She is a senior attending Sulphur High School. She is the daughter of Bryan and Julie Galley.
The new Public Relations Officer and new board member Torie Schwartz, Rossville, Ind., is the daughter of Joe and Marla Metzger. She will graduate next year with her Associates degree, in the Agricultural Transfer program at Black hawk College, East Campus, in Kewanee, Ill. Then pursue her Bachelors at an undecided four year university.
Re-elected to the board is Ry Stover, Binger, Oklahoma. He is the son of Wes and Cheryl Stover. He is attending Redlands Community College on a judging scholarship. Stover then plans to attain a degree in Animal Science, and pursue his bachelors from Oklahoma State.
Newly elected to the board is Katie Mack, Zumbrota, Minnesota. She is majoring in Animal Science and Marketing and Communications with an Agriculture Emphasis at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. She is the daughter of Timothy and Marie Mack.
Tate McCarty, Weatherford, Texas, also newly elected, will be a sophomore at Texas Tech University majoring in Ag Business and Horticulture and Turf Grass Management, in Lubbock, Texas. He is the son of Bruce and Lori McCarty
Representing Tennessee is Candace Hartsfield from Lawrenceburg. She will be a junior at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Tenn., majoring in Animal Science with a concentration in Communications. Hartsfield is the daughter of CA and Patty Hartsfield.
Completing the board of directors is Brandi Truckenbrod-Hofstatter, Lacon, Ill., is the daughter of Paul and Patricia Truckenbrod. She is attending Illinois Central College in East Peoria, Illinois majoring in Animal Science and Ag Communications, and then she will be transferring to Iowa State University to complete her education.
